Users on the Sacred Temple server (free/3rd party) as of Sunday April 9th will be receiving a notice of "This account can not be played until it is paid for. Please visit www.realmserver.com to pay for this account." when they attempt to login. Basically, all accounts are locked until you message "God" with your login name on the Discord chat server.

The reason for this is included on the Discord announcements:

@everyone Accounts have to be manually unlocked by a dev, either God or Gimli. Both are veryyyy busy dealing with both the sever and real world stuff. Patience guys, and apologies.(edited)
@everyone Message @God With your login to get account unlocked. he is quite busy so do not expect it to be unlocked right away. He will get to it when he can. Thank you, God.(edited)
@everyone KC/BLuDLuST/RockWall had 1.4billion gold stashed on a mule account. If you want someone to blame for downtime...

@everyone We had free/unlimited sign-ups until a couple of people ruined it for everyone. Cheaters messed up the server last weekend forcing @God to shut down the server for a day to not only rollback the server but also close down account sign-ups. All accounts made prior to last weekend still exist, but are 'unpaid' meaning you cannot log in. New accounts are created also 'unpaid'. If you have just created a new account, please go to the #goatlist and ask for vouches. Each NEW account required 3 vouches, 1 from a different person in order for @God to unlock the account. If your account is OLDER than last weekend, message @God the LOGIN and he will get to unlocking it eventually. He is a very busy person who is doing all of this for free, and still has to deal with his real life. if you have any questions, refer to #general and thank you for playing :alt1:

I was asked the other day why it takes so long for a new section to be moved over into our new systems here at RHQ, and I figured I'd list it as a public statement...

When I first took on this site I decided to just flatfile all data (put all the html/data into files and update it accordingly when I needed to; it saved time but wasn't fancy nor dynamic and sometimes it took some time to update the data in the proper sections.

Additionally our first systems where various scripts I found online that did about what I wanted them to with little to no editing required.

Over the time I've spent maintaining the site I decided that The Realm Online is really somewhere that I've loved to be over the years, and the users deserved more than my modest laziness; so I decided to get to work coding.

In most cases you don't get to see the complexity of how certain things function, the news page for example has numerous sections, each with their own pagination (the portion of the script that makes the various pages) and sections in the database that they pull news from. It may sound easy, but once you dive deep into the confines of PHP/MySQL code and make it XHTML/CSS valid with script fed alternating cells things get a wee bit complicated...

I try to bring things as fast as I can (with the exception of my being sick lately) but I refuse to use something that I personally cannot vouch for (such as using other peoples code on this site, not to mention the learning experiances).

I'm dedicated to making this site the premier Realm Online resource for all of its fans for years to come, reguardless of what other sites pop up, I will be here working hard to give back to the game and its users who have given me so much.

So to everyone who keeps asking when the next update to the site is coming; be patient, it'll be worth it :).

Just a quick notice, RealmHQ.com is not owned nor directly affiliated with Norseman Games; we do not know nor are authorized to provide any information about the stability of any Norseman Games servers nor can we provide you with billing assistance.

If you require support from Norseman Games please email their Customer Service department at cs@realmserver.com[mailname]cs@realmserver.com[/mailname].

Again, we cannot provide any sort of "official" support that would normally be provided by Norseman Games and any response from us on any NG issue will be purely speculation and assumption.

I'm sad to announce that last night BringerOfLife and I are officially seperated, we had a good 9 month in-game marriage and have acquired many many friends and family.

Well, its no suprise that updates have been fairly scarse around these parts, and that I haven't really been around since Calowl's passing (in fact, the last update I really did was Robbie's memorial here).

I'd like you all to know that I'll slowly be phaising back into playing realm again... Thats right, I'm baaaa-aaaack ;)...

If you'd like to chat, please feel free to /t me on Wizzeh or come stalk me at my townie spots (WL 1L, WL 1D 2R, or EL 1D chillin with the fam)...

I'm working on some updates here which will make maintenance issues be a thing of the past (yes, I'm finally phaising in MySQL databases for all of the content sections); additionally I have a few of my design buddies helping me with some features.

If you'd like to provide any input for the site, please feel more than free to do so from the Contact Us link on the left sidebar, I love hearing your comments and I try to always respond :).

It would seem that Calowl's abandonment of Realm as of late wasn't really an abandonment... We've found out today that Robbie Laws (aka Calowl) was involved in a plane accident and killed on April 05, 2006.

Robbie was more than just a good friend to us all, he was family; better family to me than my own. I am sure that I can speak for us all by saying that Robbie will truely be missed.

Robbie was a longstanding member of The Realm Online as was well liked by many players, he was always the first to step up and help someone. Robbie was the second in command of Keepers of Realm when it was initially founded, he since then took command as the leader with myself as his second.

Robbie had also helped a lot here at RealmHQ, he had assisted me with screenshots and information for the site, as well ask kept me going when things got rough and I wanted to give up. For all of his hard work and divotion to helping out his friends, he will forever be remembered.

Things will be hard without you Robbie, you'll be in all of our prayers.

We love you,
Wizzeh

My disable has been removed today on both of my accounts due to a "missunderstanding" which resulted in the disable in the first place...

I'd like to thank everyone who rallied together to email Norseman Games with supporting information about this issue.
Posted By Gremelin Posted on March 23rd, 2006
Well, I'm currently disabled due to a supposid "hacking" on a gm account, where I supposidly stole 250 ViH's... Now I ask you, if I have about 400m worth of items in the game, what the hell do I want with 250 ViH's?

Additionally, the email I recieved from CS said that I had been teleporting myself around realm and to "Secret Places"; I'm sorry, the only time I've ever been teleported was during a copper event; and if I wanted to see "secret places" I'd just mosy on over to RealmOracle.com as there are plenty of them shown lol...

I recieved the same disable email that FMoD got, additionally he got one the same day I got dissed on his second account which I had access to (as it held armor he was borrowing, and I had accessed to retrieve my stuff); likely they saw my ip accessing his account and jumped to the conclusion that I was him too...

Anywho, I'm asking anyone who knows me to go ahead and write a character referance into Norseman Games (cs@realmserver.com) and hopefully I can get back on soon...

Special thanks to BoL and Calowl for letting everyone know within the game. The funny thing is, both of "my" accounts got disabled, one of which is technically BoL's as she pays for it AND plays on it 99% of the time... So who knows what NG was thinking...

For those of you who are curious what I've been doing with myself for the last 3 days of being Realmless, I've taken the time to work on some coding projects that I've been neglecting; I've completely recoded <a href="http://www.corthell.net/">Corthell.net</a> (family site) and I'm working on <a href="http://www.virtualnightclub.net/">VNC Web Design</a> (my business site), I may work on <a href="http://www.pacificservers.net/">Pacific Servers</a> (side business with friends) if I have some time as well...

Keepers of Realm has regrouped! You can catch up with them on the <a href="http://www.keepersofrealm.com/">KoR HomePage</a>...

I'm proud to say that I'm the Guild Master (second in command, yey me!), feel free to check out the site for some quick information about the guild, or message one of our members in-game, we're usually around to help :).
Posted By Gremelin Posted on March 22nd, 2006
Well, it would appear that KoR has been officially disbanded today... It's sad that a group of some of the most fine people that I've ever met in TRO is now separated, it was actually the first guild where I actually felt like it where a family (though semi estranged lol).

I wish all of the KoR folks good luck in their future endeavors, though I'm sure we'll all see each other again ;)...
