Talk about a photo dump; we've added all of the site images to the pictures system, which now allows them all to be seen as an image gallery vs if we've decided to link to them... All 412 of them.

We've been hard at work this month with pushing out site updates. These new updates affect the user interface, such as a brighter color scheme, a mobile user interface (feel free to load the site up on your cellphones and tablets), updates to several key site systems, registered users can now upload pictures, and users can submit content to various site systems without having to sign up for an account.

We've revamped our pagination system, and added it to various sections of the site that had long listings of data. Additionally, a bug in the Guestbook was found and patched (you can now see all of the people who have signed, versus just the first 20 entries).

Get out there and explore!

The Guest Book is back up, everyone can now submit entries once again. The entry display page has also been updated to fit in with the new layout.

Cave Directions have been updated again, this time from data provided by ZippeD vs the outdated MM that's been making rounds. There are still several (with a big red ?) that need to be updated!
Posted By Gremelin Posted on March 31st, 2017
I've begun moving the site to a more modern code base, please bear with me as these changes are rolled out.

2017.03.30: All of the main pages have been migrated to newer coding to fix several bugs.
2017.03.27: The Sets pages have been migrated, they now have search engine friendly URLs in place.
2017.03.26: NPC Direction Update; I spent the day going town to town for new directions; shopkeeper names may still be the old NPC names, as I haven't visited all of the shops yet.

With news of the Sacred Temple server I have resurrected RealmHQ on one of our old secondary domains, I am the original owner (Wizzeh) of RealmHQ, and some of you have been using the outdate infromation off of my development server for some time.
Posted By Gremelin Posted on March 23rd, 2017
I've got the GuestBook and Contact Systems back online; it took a little work to retrofit the new CAPTCHA system to it; but it's working fine...

Unfortunately, the migration effected the upload system more than I had anticipated; and it will be down until I can get a new system coded and in place.
Posted By Gremelin Posted on March 10th, 2009
Until further notice (AKA when I have some spare coding time to update them) the following pages will not function (as for some reason the current CAPTCHA solution we use here isn't working on the new server):

Contact Us
Upload File

If you would like to submit a file, or contact us, please just email me at Wizzeh[at]RealmHQ[dpt]com (replace the [at] with @ and [dot] with . please)

We relocated webhosts today; our old host didn't like our simple method of monthly backups so they revoked our permission on the PHP server...

Why was this revokation so bad you may ask? Well, it allowed full downloads to all of our files from anyone who bothered to notice the download popup...

So all passwords have been changed on the site, and I'm re-operating on the principle of trust that no one stole too much of my coding...

If you did happen to sneak a peek at some coding you must really be amazed at the anal retentiveness that ends up in every bit of my PHP/MySQL coding lol...

It'll take about 48 hours for all DNS propogation to complete, but we're live here...
Posted By Gremelin Posted on March 2nd, 2009
Well, it's been a while since I've had any motive and drive to work on the site; but if you know anything about my coding style I love to ensure I've got the most optimized coding...

Sooo, time to do some updates!

In the coming weeks you'll likely notice, nothing... That's because our first major updates will be geared towards cleaning up the code from the last time I did some major updates...

After this cleanup period, I'll be working on adding more of the areas to be able to be worked on from an admin panel, and bringing some people like MartyMar on board to help with some day to day items...

Always looking for some more assistance, even if you just can find items and send in screen shots! And we're always wanting new ideas ;)...

We're working on a File Upload script which will allow you, the user, to upload files. These files can be at max 200k and must be age appropriate.

Allowed extensions are: jpg, jpeg, gif, png.

You can link to (and embed) these graphics on TRO's forum, and our forum. For "outside" sites however we don't have direct hotlinking enabled (though you can request access).

You can upload files here, please note that we're still working on a "front end" to see which files have been approved for public viewing.

All uploaded files must be approved by a staff member, as this site is rated E (for everyone) content must be monitored for user safety.

I'm happy to announce the Malgor has joined our team here at RealmHQ! It's my hope that we'll be able to get back on track with Vera and Mal at the reign's and me fiddling in the cellar ;).

I'm happy to announce that Vera Gemini has taken me up on my offer to help run RealmHQ! Please welcome here to the long list of people who've helped make this site what it is today :).

I've moved our forum data to my startup web gaming community, i feel that it'd do more good there versus here and I have more access over the server over there (and more resources).

The forum will automagically send you over there when you click the forum link.

[justify]I've taken and updated the style on the [highlight][/highlight] domain with my changes to the domain over the last couple of weeks. Those who're accessing this site through RJ can now see the new text formatting that I was so giddy about yesterday ;)...[/justify]

[align:justify]I have also added a "Justify" alignment to go with the others (which was added to both stylesheets today) and is being tested in this news post ;).[/align]

Additionally, I've been poking around online at various formatting tags (especially their CSS counterparts) and I've made even more code updates (mainly to the way lists work), as you can see from the other news posting (below) that I've added some new list tags so that i can define how different lists work.

Eventually the BBCode tags will make it into the articles system, which will allow for large amounts of formatting for the articles, without having to allow (potentially dangerous) html or php code to be stored in the database (which is what I've been trying to avoid having to allow since inception of this site).

I've made a pretty large update to the news and rss systems today, this change allows me to utilize formatting in the news postings; these are as follows:

    [*]Blinking Text[/*][*:square]Bolding[/*][*:bullet]Italicizing[/*][*]Strikethrough[/*][*:square]Underline[/*][*:bullet][w]Weak Text[/w][/*][*]Listing[/*]

I've also added support for lists to be displayed; although I have to publish them all on one line, it'll display to the user (you) as intended due to the proper coding inserted in the system.

I also did some tweaking on the url and email tags and finally have them working (go figure, I simply had to move one tag up in the order they where processed).

I also did some adding to the alignment properties so, if the need arises, i can:
[left]Left Align Text[/left]
Center Align Text

[right]Right Align Text[/right]

The formatting updates won't really be of much consequence to any RSS readers, unless they support my CSS encoding (you can find the formatting block in the stylesheet fairly easily).

[quser]Wizzeh[/quser]I've also been working on a basic system for quoting users

This doens't really mean too much to the casual user; I just wanted everyone to know that I'm still here and I'm still making updates hehe...

I've also gone ahead and added the RSS links to the header file, if you're using a superior browser like Firefox you should see the rss icon lit up when browsing the site. I've added all of our feeds to the header so you should receive a complete list.

We've had several requests over the last months to have a web forum on the site. At first I was opposed to the idea due to the popularity of the official Realm Online forums, but with the recent "improvements" on their site, I've decided to at least test catering to this request.

Our new forum is available on the left sidebar via the "Forum" link; it is running UBB.Threads 7.0.2 (formerly NG was running UBB.Threads 6.0 which was very, very old). I've done much work with Groupee (formerly Infopop) over the years on both their UBB.Threads and UBB.Classic products, so there wasn't really any guess that they're who I'd choose ;).

We'll see how popular the forum is in the coming months, I've gotten the ok from our host for more resources for the site so it won't be any hassle to run it ;).

Feel free to email me any sugguestions, or make sugguestions in the feedback forum on the bulletin board.

Well, I've been busy inserting data into the new database systems lately... After several days I've got the items database populated; once I get some extra time I'll be working n the php pages for the new items listing page and will spend time adjusting it accordingly.

I'm not sure what all I'm going to add to the systems, but links to description images will be a possibility.

This should be within the next week or so, but I'm not entirely sure when I'll get all (or most) of the testing done.

I'm not sure what will be next on the update agenda, but we've still got several things to update ;)...
